Weighing the Costs: Cosmetic Dentistry Fees, Payment Plans, and Financing Option
- By:David Berry
You’ve finally decided that it’s time to stop talking about getting beautiful teeth and start working towards that goal. You’ve located a few cosmetic dentistry offices that you believe would be able to help you get the teeth that you’ve always wanted to have. Now, how are you going to pay for it? Cosmetic dental work can be fairly expensive, especially if you’re getting extensive work done.
The first thing you should do is check with your insurance. Some insurance policies will cover certain types of cosmetic dental procedures. They may, however, limit exactly what they’ll cover. For instance, your insurance policy may cover a tooth implantation, but may not cover teeth whitening. Before you have any treatment done, and even before you call a cosmetic dentistry office, it is a good idea to check with your insurance agency to see what their policies cover for cosmetic dentistry procedures.
If your insurance doesn’t cover the entire cost of your procedure, or doesn’t cover any of it, what can you do then? Many people look to credit cards. There are a number of credit companies that have specific credit cards that were created to help cover the costs of dental procedures. Most cosmetic dentistry offices will accept these cards, but it is a good idea to check with the office before you get the card to ensure that your specific office will accept these types of credit cards. Many people also use regular credit cards to pay for their cosmetic dentistry work. Almost all cosmetic dentists accept major credit cards such as Visa or MasterCard.
Another option is to get a small loan from your local bank to pay for your dental procedure. Some banks even have specific loans set aside to pay for cosmetic dental work. Your cosmetic dentistry office may also be one that is able to work out a payment plan with you. This makes it easy to get your procedures done while paying for them over time, instead of paying for them all up front.
If you’ve been thinking about perfecting your smile with cosmetic dental work but are intimidated by the costs, do some research. You will likely find that there is a flexible payment option that can work for you.
